On Wednesday everyone had gone home except us and it was pretty quiet around here. Jeff noticed my mom's under-counter lights lacked usability and set to improving it. Anath installed them over a year ago and just tacked up all the extension cords. My mom had to reach to the back of the counter to plug it in so she really hadn't been using it. The result was this big web of extension cords hanging over her counter.
Jeff took out all the spices and bowls in the cupboards and drilled small holes to feed the cords through. He cut and shortened the extension cords and then wired them back together in the back of the cupboards so it was all hidden. Then he installed a convenient switch so she didn't have to plug anything in.
A bonus for my mom was we cleaned and organized her spice cupboard and went through all her bowls and got rid of a bunch with no lids. We found some pretty vintage spices, including a tin box of Allspice which cost 12 cents when originally purchased.
My dad is building a cabin near one of the lakes here and it getting ready to put it up for sell. It's been ongoing as he has time but he is really wanting to finish. We found out the baseboards needed to be installed so Jeff was great to offer his handyman services. He worked alongside my uncle Darwin Webb who just had his knee replaced so Jeff did most of the installing.
James was in heaven looking at all the tools in the work shed. I think he wanted to touch all of them before I had to shoo him out.Isn't this gorgeous?! He cut all the red heart cedar for the wall paneling and the pine for the floorboards. The floor is a beautiful stained cement with pipes underneath to heat it in the winter. He originally wanted to keep it as a rental for vacationers but is hoping to sell it along with the two lots next door.
The outside has a full wrap around, covered porch- perfect for sitting under during rainstorms or sunny days.
The under the counter lighting looks amazing - good work Jeff!
