We made it!

After leaving our house at 4:15 am (thanks Scott for the early morning ride to the airport!), flying first to Denver then to Raleigh, NC, and then driving our rental car 3 hours, we arrived at Ocean Isle Beach! The kids did great on the trip thanks to plenty of snacks and a travel DVD player with movies for James. We bought him and Harrison kid headphone sets just so they could watch and not bother people.

At one point Harrison was restless and fussy on the second flight but he soon fell asleep and got much needed rest. In Raleigh we met up with Jeff's friend from High School and had dinner with her and her husband at Crakerbarrel and had a nice long break from all the traveling. I'm not sure our kids gave the greatest first impression because they were a little cranky and Harrison refused to sit in the highchair so I had to hold him on my lap.
Grandpa Jim & Grandma Jane and Aunt Cami and cousins Owen (5) and Jack (2) were already at the beach house when we arrived. We're looking forward to 2 1/2 weeks of beach fun with everyone!
